What a top couple of days we had :) it started off with a visit to my Dads to tell them we are giving up childminding in September to take a 'gap' year or two !!! it's not only 20 year old who can have abit of fun :)
Then it was off to Alton Water for lunch with our friends Neil and Linda Hurrell and get ready for the Twilight canoe but first we have time to get the bikes out for an afternoon ride. When I was loading the bikes on the van in the morning and being the first time out this year,I discovered Mags mountain bike had a broken rear brake :( so we had to take that to the repair shop and take Mag's lovelly town bike, complete which wicker basket - not ideal for country paths !!!
We were not keen to bike around Alton Water again and Linda was not keen to bike at all but with abit of arm twisting we headed toward the dam before bearing right toward Holbrook school then left to the footpath and then found the most wonderful little stream leading all the way to Holbrook creek :) The tide was in on the River Stour and it looked great. We had a quick trip to the banks of the Stour to the spot where Robert and me tried kitesurfing and then back along the bach of the impressive Holbrook school past the church and back to our vans which were parked in the corner of the sailing carpark and because of the twilight canoe and weekend regatta we were allowed to camp for free :)
The ride was abit on the short side :( but I think Linda enjoyed the adventure and spent alot of the trip pushing her bike and giggling and trying not to fall in the river !!!!
